Simoon Travel, like you, is under no illusions that climate change presents a real threat to the planet. We are committed to doing our bit to help.

What are we doing about it?

Every year we are audited by The World Land Trust (WLT) - a wildlife conservation charity. WLT calculates our carbon dioxide emissions and recommends how we can best continue to reduce our emissions.

For all our clients, a voluntary surcharge - calculated on the distance flown, will be added to the tour cost. We encourage you to pay it to help the work of WLT.

Being a responsible traveller comes with obligations to appreciate and respect the economic, social and cultural integrity of a destination.

Where possible, Simoon Travel uses less intrusive, lower impact forms of travel e.g. camels and trekking.

Simoon Travel gives preference to small, locally-owned operations that are more sensitive to the environment and local culture.

Simoon Travel supports the local infrastructure without drastically increasing demands. We aim to buy products that are characteristic of the local culture and tradition, not those that are a by-product of the tourism industry.

This does not mean we have the right as travellers to halt our host country’s progression. Progress is essential. If tourists show an appreciation for the traditional ways of life and culture, we can help maintain cultural diversity for future generations.
