Christopher Hampson, Boodles Tour to Syria and Jordan, March 2010
"Thank you a million times for the marvellous trip you organised for us. 42 Boodles take quite a bit management and you did it with skill, care and charm. It really was a marvellous holiday: we saw so much and so many beautiful things and managed to have fun as well - largely thanks to you. Please convey message of thanks to Daniel as well as he couldnt hae been nicer and more helpful"
Jill and Hector Kerr-Smiley, Boodles Tour to Syria and Jordan, March 2010

Bill and Mary Warre, Boodles Tour to Syria and Jordan, March 2010
"A brief line to tell you how much Davinia and I enjoyed your beautifully managed journey to Jordan and Syria. It must have been pretty complicated to set it up so efficiently...and you succeeded most excellently. Your kindness and care for the ancient Boodlers particularly me was enormously appreciated and we all thought you were gorgeous!"
Michael and Davinia Martin, Boodles Tour to Syria and Jordan, March 2010

Nick and Pat Hood, Boodles Tour to Syria and Jordan, March 2010
"I want to express my HUGE appreciation and thanks to you for all your massive contribution to making the Boodles Abroad trip to Jordan and Syria such a success. The feedback has been very very positive and everybody clearly enjoyed the experience...we really couldnt have survived without you...and you did it all in great good humour and without ever showing what a stressful experience it must have been at times. So thank you, thank you for everything you did to make everything go so smoothly"

"Miranda and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Thank you very much indeed for all your splendid efforts to add fun and your good sheperd act, and the jokes! How you and delightful Daniel coped cat herding was remarkable. Please give him our thanks too. What a pity modern architects cant balance rock piles like the Romans!"
Martin Taylor, Boodles Tour to Syria and Jordan, March 2010
"As you know I thoroughly enjoyed the week in Syria - particularly as the group was small and I didnt feel we were nannied or regimented. It was a lovely holiday. Thank you!"
Jane Fletcher, Private Classical Syria Tour, February 2010
"Just to let you know that we had a great trip...the company was good too and we will certainly try to travel with a group of this size again. Abdul Heba was great, we couldnt have wished for a better guide or nicer character. Your Tripoli driver was a gem too."
Mike and Sue Croft, Highlights of Libya Tour, 4th - 15th April 2009
Abdul Heba, our tour guide, was superb. Very knowledgeable and clearly well connected - he was able to procure for us the very best of site guides.
Eric and Valarie Sanby, Highlights of Libya Tour, April 2009
We had a lovely trip I cant say enough about Mahmood and the Tehrani driver...if we manage Shiraz next year Mahmood is a must"
Jennifer Landless, Tailor Made Tour to Iran, April 2009
"A very well organised, varied and interesting holiday, one that will always be remembered, thank you"
Rosalind Wilcock, Persia Unveiled Tour, April 2009
We had a wonderful holiday. The ancient sites are, as expected, spectacular but surpassed our expectations. Tripoli was fascinating and how lovely to be treated courteously and not hassled by the shopkeepers. Ghadames was amazing and worth the arduous journey to get there. Abdul Heba was a delight, as were all the guides.
Barbara Bullock, Highlights of Libya Tour, April 2009
"Congratulations to Simoon Travel, but particularly to Clare, for giving us the most wonderful holiday ever! Apart from our great good fortune to have Parviz as our guide and Ashkan, a driver of excellence and sensitivity to his passengers comfort, Jasper and I were particularly impressed with Clares calm and unfazed handling of all our problems, large and small, with efficiency and lack of fuss and her general happy and relaxed attitude. The tour was very well paced, allowing plenty of rest between visits to sights/sites, so that we never felt rushed or exhausted...we would certainly travel with Simoon again"
Jasper and Therese Woodcock, Persia Unveiled Tour, May 2009
"Everyone thought the programme was perfectly designed with the Ghadames expedition interposed between the more northerly sites, building to the climax at Leptis Magna with the visit to the Museum this morning acting as a retrospective/summary of all we had seen.
Said Ali Hamed was a star -- knowledgeable, clear in his explanations, patient with our occasional waywardnesses, endlessly resourceful, inventive and enthusiastic, always trying to fill out the programme with some extra treasure....So thank you very much for making all this possible -- we shall know what to say if people ask us how to arrange a trip to Libya"
Peter Baring, Private Highlights of Libya Tour, September 2009
"We had a wonderful time. You arranged the perfect tour for us. The itinerary was just right and everything worked according to plan. We saw marvellous sites, learnt alot and the hotels were excellent. The team who looked after us were friendly and efficient and our guide Said was highly professional, knowledgeable, very attentive and delightful. Simoon has a lot to be proud of. So many thanks."
Sir Richard Carew-Pole, Private Highlights of Libya Tour, September 2009
"Thank you for the spendid job you did in planning and organised our trip to Libya ( the Baring party, Sept 24 to Oct 6) We greatly enjoyed it and saw wonderful things, all in the right order of ascending beauty and importance and there was nothing I would have changed: I would have like to see more Tuaregs but they are not under your control!! I would certainly recommend your company to anyone who was planning a trip to that country - thank you for all your hard work."
Lady Gabriella Marlesford, Private Highlights of Libya Tour, September 2009
"As you know, Lepcis is a mind blowing experience, and we had an extremely worthwhile long morning on site, made even more perfect because of Mustafas encyclopaedic knowledge....The whole thing was a marvellous and unique Libyan experience for us, and many of our acquaintances aboard were envious of what we had fixed up. We will be happy to recommend Simoons services to others if you so wish."
Peter and Patricia Roberts, Tailor Made Tour of Libya, November 2009
"We are back safely after a wonderful trip: we absolutely loved everything we saw and it is really a trip of a lifetime. We felt very lucky to be able to see the Djebel Acacus for 6 full days with almost nobody around and it fully deserve it status of World Heritage site. We are sure that as Lybia is really starting to open up, in a few years time it will not be as unspoilt as it is now...The scenery was absolutely spectacular and the skies at night without any light pollution is something to cherish for the rest of our life. Leptis Magna was one of the best, most evocative ancient sites we ever saw (and we have seen a lot of them especially in Syria and Turkey)."
Laurence Devlin, Land of the Tuareg Tour (Libya), November 2009
"The Taste of Libya Tour in its variety was an excellent an enjoyable introduction to Libya. It was nice to travel in such a small group - a certain quality (of comraderie, individual attention etc) is lost in a large group....our guide Alla, was excellent and had a great sense of humour"
Jim Nimmo, Taste of Libya Tour, 7th - 14th November 2009
"I just want to thank you again for going the extra mile to arrange my trip at very short notice."
Elaine Matthews, Long Weekend in Libya Tour, 15th - 18th October 2009
I could not wish for a more informed and helpful guide than Said; and would very much hope to be able to secure him in any future visit. Please give yourself top marks in the questionnaire and thank you again for making such an enjoyable visit.
James Dugdale, Private Taste of Libya Tour, January 2010
"You can search the web for hours or you can take my word and those of previous clients, the Amguid Crater Trek is in a class of its own. Way out in the remote Sahara beyond the reach of cars, its the real thing compared to the token excursions one gets in Morocco or Tunisia. And now after three seasons its been been refined to run on rails"
Comments made by Saharan Expert Chris Scott leader of the Immidir Trek to the Amguid Crater Tour, Algeria January 2010
"Once again the trip was wonderful. It is a rare trip that, on arrival back home, has you feeling you want to go straight back and do it again. This trip is unique: after two crossings of the Immidir I would like nothing better than go right back again.
With a different guide the route was different on a couple of the days so I saw new things and enjoyed understanding more of how all the oueds and plateaus fit together. On our second day the route took us through canyons with gueltas which were spectacular, a cave with engraved giraffes. I think this may have been part of your original route. As before the crater and the dunes were impressive highlights. So now it is back to long hours at work and thinking - I really would like to go again...I am still entranced by the trip. The stillness, tranquility and unspoilt nature all make it a very special experience. In my experience it is difficult to find a place that is so remote and unspoilt yet (at least in winter) is a comfortable experience. No acclimatisation to altitude, no savage cold or endless rain. To sleep out and watch stars each night, have the extra comfort that the camels pack in for us is great. The camels themselves are still a major treat for me, they add a rhythm and grace to the trip. It also intrigues me that beyond the spectacular scenery one finds prehistoric pottery, sees ancient cave paintings and finds leopard prints in the sand. What a place"
Alan Roberts, Immidir Trek to the Amguid Crater Tour to Algeria, January 2010
"And once again thanks to you, Amelia and Fouad for the wonderful trip- it was the experience of a lifetime and I’m glad I met the travelers that I did in our group"
Aneeza Pasha, Immidir Trek to the Amguid Crater Tour, Algeria, January 2010
"This was an excellent holiday for our first experience of Simoon and we would certainly consider booking other holidays in the future....The local Omani guide, Nasser, was excellent both as regards his relaxed and sensitive way of handling the tour for his good dring standard and wide ranging knowledge of Oman"
Simeon Brown, Discover Oman Tour, February 2010
"Amelia thanks again for a terrific holiday!"
Liz Shapland, Classical Syria Tour, February 2010
"Amelia thank you so much for a wonderful holiday and for your help over and above the call of duty! We all had a fantastic time."
Gay Crossley, Classical Syria Tour, February 2010
"Amelia I wanted to say thanks. I really did enjoy the trip hugely. It was fascinating watching the group dynamics and you and Bisher were brilliant at unobtrusively making everything move smoothly. To my surprise the thing I enjoyed most wasnt the antiquities, though theyre pretty fab, but the people and the cities..."
Dave Thomas, Classical Syria Tour, February 2010
"Just to say a big thank you for an amazing holiday. We both thoroughly enjoyed having a taste of Oman, we only wish that we had had another week and done some more walking, we especially loved the Balcony trail walk, how awesome the scenery was....our guide Asad was brilliant and very informative and the accommodation was better than we thought it might be."
Niki Lunn, Oman Tailor Made Tour, March 2009
The whole trip was a massive success, very rewarding and hugely enjoyable. I walked over a hundred miles in the Sahara in nine days so it was physically demanding, but the physical beauty of the landscape is what I will remember. My two Tuareg friends, Amgar and Khadiro, and I did not see another building, car, camel or human being for seven days. I have been fortunate to see some far flung parts of the world, but there is nowhere that I can think of that is more beautiful than parts of the Fezzan... this is a part of the world that I must return to.
Thank you for your amazing organisation of our Libya trip. You were able to provide both teachers and pupils with a once in a lifetime experience. I was impressed with how smoothly everything ran....and I was also pleased with the way you were able to tailor the trip perfectly to our interests.
Glenn Moodie, Head of Classics, Uppingham School, Tailor Made Tour to Libya, March 2009
"I had the most wonderful time on the Iran trip. It turned out to be very nice having a small group. We all got along really well. Our driver, Ashkan, was particularly helpful and seemed to just appear when anyone needed anything at all. Clare too was very very helpful and efficient and a terrific travel companion. I think the pace of your tour is great. Sightseeing in the mornings and later afternoons, with a very welcome couple of hours rest in between to gather thoughts and mull things over and calm down! To start and end at the Escan Hotel in Tehran is great too - lovely shower and bed, delicious breakfast and easy internet access. Im full of admiration for you and Clare and all at Simoon. regards - and thanks for another memorable holiday"
Jennifer Ho, Persia Unveiled Tour, May 2009
"We felt strongly that you gave us everything we expected - and much more. The tour description was accurate, your website well designed, informative and easy to use but best of all was the personal service you and Clare gave us throughout the arrangements and of course during the time in Iran. We were delighted with your choices of places to stay, especially the caravanserai and the hotel in Kashan...altogether the whole fortnight was a very memorable experience"
Susan and Neil Paterson, Persia Unveiled Tour, April 2009
Brilliant trip - we both really enjoyed it - Roger much to his surprise. Great group of people - we all got on all of the time - a pleasant surprise. Chris invariably undersells and over delivers on the expectations of the trip, is delightfully laid back about things - our third trip way with him as the facilitator between us and the desert experience. After 5 vehicle trips to the Sahara it was a totally different experience and a great work out as well. Thanks for all the hard work and hassle you will have had to go through in order to get this up and running - well done.
Sue Shuttleworth, Immidir Trek to the Amguid Crater - Algeria, 4-18th January 2009
"There were so many highlights...that it is almost impossible to tell you what went down best. From an academic point of view, the chance to roam freely with excellent guides all over some of the most astonishing Classical remains on earth, with hardly another soul around, was immensely valuable, stimulating, and exciting. Yet, inevitably, I feel most pupils star highlight of the trip was our two days in turbans, gallivanting around the Ubari Sand Sea in 4x4s, swimming in oases, watching purple forked lightning and feeling the unexpected rain and wind of a desert storm."
Will Chuter, Classics Teacher Uppingham School, Tailor Made School Tour to Libya, March 2009
It was the most extraordinary experience, and Im very grateful for Simoons help and organisation. I will definitely travel with you again.
Frida Almaraz, Immidir Trek to the Amguid Crater - Algeria, 4-18th January 2009
"I think this is a gem of a trip. I think you have a niche trek that offers so much that is not achievable in other parts of the world....this trip provides unspoilt, remote beautiful changing scenery along with good weather for camping, no extended ascents and no altitude acclimatization. For me trekking with camels was a great experience and made the trip stand out. Seeing the crater was unforgettable, it is so dramatic and unexpected a wonderful high point of the trek, although each day provided something new and exciting to see.....I think this is probably the best trip I have done in a long time. If it were possible I would like to go back right now and do it all again"
Alan Roberts, Immidir Trek to the Amguid Crater - Algeria, 1st - 18th January 2009
Chris was an excellent guide, informative/knowledgeable and jolly, he kept moral high.....we had a fantastic time a very memorable trip!
Tom and Cadie Albertini, Immidir Trek to the Amguid Crater - Algeria, 4 - 18th January 2009
"I had a wonderful trip to Oman with Simoon Travel. Our guides were cheerful and knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble for them. We enjoyed some wonderfully remote walks with spectacular vistas that defied description. All in all this was a well rounded trip for the adventurous of spirit in a country that still has a timeless feel about it unlike many of its modern neighbours."
Shaun Stewart, Oman Tailor Made, 31st October - 10th November 2008
"Had a wonderful and interesting trip and would definitely consider travelling with Simoon again, in fact, looking at Iran....."
"A very enjoyable trip in pleasant company. The East Coast, although not as spectacular as Leptis is nevertheless worth a visit and the last night in Tripoli in the Zumit Hotel was delightful"
Uta Allanson, A Taste of Libya + Classical Extension, 8th - 18th November 2008
"This was an excellent holiday. Thank you so much. I usually travel independently so do not often join a group but I shall certainly sing your praises to anyone who might consider using your company"
Jennie Powell, Highlights of Libya and Ghadames Festival Tour, October 2008
"Meandering through our wonderful Persian adventures and experiences you have magically conjured up for us over the last fortnight, it is so difficult to pick my favourite one. The sumptuous caravanserai, the deserted village of Kharanaq, dinner with Reza and his family and the sublime Sheikh Lotfollah mosque in Isfahan – all highlights which I will never forget".
Jo Cuppage, Persia Unveiled Tour to Iran, September 2008
"Organisation and timing excellent - Overall we had a fantastic holiday - looked after very well - guides great, THANK YOU! WE LOVE LIBYA!"

"Loved Abdul (local Libyan guide) & Chris (guest lecturer) was a mine of information"
Daniel Austin, Highlights of Libya Tour, September 2008
"The group in itself was a fascinating bunch of people and we were as one in finding the riches of this hitherto forbidden country breath-taking. As a Classics teacher, I am familiar with many ancient sites but none as perfect in their state of preservation and their setting as these. To be alone walking around these treasures was amazing - it felt as though Libya was our own special secret. Everywhere we encountered wonderful care and service, all the more remarkable because bus-drivers and tour guides alike were coping with the privations of Ramadan. I feel that I have been given a real insight too into Islam; our guide, Abdul, demonstrated an active and deep-felt belief in his religion and his country. I am so delighted to have made this journey and am actively recommending it to friends and students"
Sally Cooper, Highlights of Libya, September 2008
"I loved it! Every single second...and I can't imagine 12 more blissful days or more beautiful sites or a better guide. It was a little taste of heaven."

"Nothing could really have prepared us for the stunning beauty of the place, the welcome and hospitality of the people and the joy of being in a country virtually unspoilt by the over exploitation of the tourist industry......our guide Bilal was absolutely fantastic. Words can't convey what a tremendous individual he is. We were moved and inspired by his relentless enthusiasm, kindness and attention to every possible detail"
