Discover Oman Tour

This tour is designed for those who want to experience Oman's rich cultural heritage as well as its spectacular mountain wilderness. It focuses predominantly on the magnificent Hajar mountain range and sand seas in the north of Oman.

Day 1

Depart London on an evening flight to Muscat

Day 2

Spend the day exploring all that this capital city has to offer. Visit the awe-inspiring Grand Mosque and the fascinating National Museum before heading for the delights of Muttrah Souk.

Day 3

Wheels roll towards the magical Wahiba Sands. En route, stop at Fiqain Fort then enjoy the dunes change colour and tone throughout the day. This landscape never fails to impress.

Day 4

Rise early to see the sun rise and then its back in the 4x4 towards Oman's green mountain, Jebel Akhdar. Steeped in history, it boasts beautiful fruit and rose plantations and offers breathtaking panoramic views.

Day 5

Visit Diana's viewpoint and the abandoned village of Wadi Bani Habib before enjoying a stunning walk from Sayq to Al Aqur.

Day 6

Today, explore Birkat al Mauz and the pretty palm-lined village of Manah, complete with its Falaj system of irrigation. Later, check into your Nizwa hotel and visit its famous 17th Century fort.

Day 7

Enjoy breathtaking views of Oman's Grand Canyon from a trail which follows the mountain edge to an abandoned village. Later, visit Nakhr village to see goat hair carpets being woven and stop for a coffee and dates with the locals.

Day 8

Journey up and over the mountains, stopping first to explore the village of Tanuf. Marvel at the unique panorama from the Col with a picnic lunch, then continue to the pretty mountain village of Bilad Sait for the night.

Day 9

Today visit the impressive Nakhl Fort and the hot springs in Rustaq, then on to Wadi Abyadh for a gentle walk.

Day 10

Depart: This morning transfer to the airport for the flight home.
