Jordan FAQsIs it for me?Yes – you’d be pushed to find something that you wouldn’t want to do...whether its hot air ballooning over Wadi Rum or exploring Petra, snorkelling in the Red Sea or trekking through a nature reserve. Are you ATOL bonded?Yes. Our number is 6694 How active will my trip be?It really depends on what you choose to do. We can tailor make a tour that can be as active or as inactive as you like! Can I opt out of certain activities? You can always opt out of an activity but, depending on the itinerary for that day, you may still need to travel with us as we’d be unable to provide a separate vehicle for you. Of course we can always tailor make a tour specifically for you. Is it safe?Yes. Jordan is very safe with a fantastic tourism infrastructure and a friendly welcoming people. Tourism makes up a huge part of the economy and is very well catered for. What will the weather be like?Spring and Autumn are probably the best times to visit when temperatures are in the mid 20’s. Summer is extremely hot and winter cold – particularly in Amman. How much spending money will I need? Please check your itinerary to see what is and what is not included. Most of your meals should already be included in your itinerary, so you’ll just need enough for your personal spending – drinks in hotels etc. You will also need a small amount for tipping and of course, shopping! What should I wear?Jordan is a predominantly Muslim society, however the country is quite Westernised and very used to tourists who wear shorts, and short sleeved tops. We advise against these for women when visiting the sites and mosques as much for protection against the sun as showing respect for a Muslim culture however within the hotel you can where what you like. If you are doing an activity you can wear comfortable clothing suitable to that activity. Do I need any special equipment? No – all equipment for any specific activity you are doing will be provided. You will just need to bring appropriate clothing and footwear. Do I need any vaccinations? There are no compulsory vaccinations for visitors but it is worth being up to date with tetanus, diphtheria and polio. There is no risk of malaria in Jordan What do you suggest with regard to tipping? It’s really up to you and what you feel your guides and driver deserve but we’d suggest allowing for £2-£3 per person per day. How many other people will be on my trip?If you book on a group tour, numbers rarely exceed 14 save but exceptionally. What are the guides like? Our local guides and drivers are experienced, hard working and good English speakers. What vehicles will I be travelling in?You will normally be in a new (never older than 18 months) 4x4 with seat belts and air-conditioning. Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan Patrol and Mitsubushi Pajero are the models of choice Can you arrange a personalised itinerary?Yes we can. What will the accommodation be like?Jordan has many different Internationally recognisable hotels to choose from. These are clean and comfortable and of a good standard. You can choose from 4* or 5* hotels. There are one or two eco lodges in the desert that are worth staying in as well. Do I need travel insurance?Yes and we can advise a full comprehensive insurance policy through Citybond Suretravel. Are there any passport or visa requirements?Your passport has to be valid for six months after your date of departure and you will be able to obtain your visa easily upon arrival at Amman airport if travelling in a party of four or under. In a larger group we organise your visa for you Would it be suitable for my children?Yes – Jordan is a great country that is geared up for families and children. There are many activities on offer for all ages and hotels that cater specifically for families and children. Are flights included? We can purchase your flights for you. |
