About IranIran is in demand! And quite rightly so...Iran is a huge, beautiful and incredibly diverse country with a staggering number of sites to visit - from the grandeur of Persepolis and Pasagarde and the exquisite detailed mosaics of the mosques in Esfahan, to the fascinating bagadirs and brick buildings of Yazd...there is so much to do in Iran you will certainly want to go back for more! Not only are there numerous cultural sites but also wonderful mountains and deserts to explore and the trekking possibilities are endless. Tourism has played a part for many years in Iran and figures show that tourism is on the increase throughout the country. There are many tourists now visiting the country (including Americans, British, French, Spanish and German) and the infrastructure is good. There are a large number of hotels for every taste, the transport is modern and efficient, and the in-country guides are extremely knowledgeable. The people of Iran are open and friendly, well educated and well travelled and keen to dispel any images of an inhospitable and unwelcoming country. Indeed they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and their genuine warmth and kindness will leave a lasting impression. Politically, Iran and Britain haven't had an easy relationship over the years, and we follow Foreign Office advice closely. However, this has not had a direct impact on how tourists are treated upon entering the country and the ease with which they can travel around and visit the sites. If there was any indication that tourists cound be at risk we would not take tours there. Simoon is keen to support the people of Iran and offer our clients the very best of what this beautiful country has to offer. |
