Algeria has been influenced by a range of cultures from the Ottoman to the French. This exciting blend gives Algeria its unique character. Although tourism is a burgeoning industry, the hospitality and warmth of the Algerians is famous. The south of the country is home of the Tuareg in the seemingly inhospitable Sahara; a desert of unparalleled beauty and grandeur.

Whilst the north has seen some recent unrest, the focus of Simoon tours is the south of the country. Simoon Travel continuously monitors the political situation in Algeria and has found that in recent years great improvements have been made to ensure the safety of tourists. All too often only negative stories receive media coverage and can unfairly taint a country’s reputation. Simoon Travel puts the safety of its clients as a first priority and would not offer tours that in any way endanger our clients or staff.

Simoon Travel is currently offering two itineraries in Algeria. The first is a two week walking expedition to explore the Immidir region, which culminates in reaching the awe inspiring Amguid meteorite crater. The walking tour allows you unrivalled chance to explore the dramatic landscapes first hand. The second tour is a combination of walking and driving which allows access to stunning canyons and gorges, before heading back towards Tamanrasset – the major trading town for the Algerian Tuareg.
